Red Hots a little rusty, Lose 9-4
Its the Fall season opener and the first three innings didn't look too promising as team Fear This managed to score the first 6 runs while blanking out the Red Hots. However, what kept them in the game was their tight defense thanks to spectacular plays by newcomer Ashley Bakken. The Red Hots slowly but surely chipped away at the lead, getting it as close as 6-4 in the 6th inning, but Fear This added some insurance runs in the last inning to win it 9-4. During this attempt at a comeback, the Red Hots lost 1st baseman Tara Schratz to a leg injury. At this point its safe to say that she'll be out a good couple of weeks. We'll keep you posted!

Playoff Math

Three teams qualify for the playoffs. Fear This have already clinched a playoff spot, so there are only two spots up for grabs.
Remaining Schedule:
Meats n Sweets (0-6) @ Mixed Madness (4-2), 6:15pm
Double Trouble (4-2) @ Red Hots (4-2), 7:20pm
Off Constantly (1-5) @ Fear This (5-1), 8:25pm
Based on the Tie-Breaker information below, here’s our scenario:
To clinch playoff berth
- A Red Hots win
- A Red Hots loss, Mixed Madness loss which would result in a Play In Game between those two teams.
Should the Red Hots tie Double Trouble, a Play In Game between those two teams would occur.

Paloma’s Walk-Off Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive

It was an offensive back and forth battle with Mixed Madness until the end..
Down by two runs in the bottom of the last inning, the Red Hots clutched up and successfully loaded up the bases to eventually tie the game at 14-14 thanks to Jazz’s base hit.
Paloma then lined a single to left center to allow the winning run to score, 15-14.
The Red Hots are now 4-2 and still have a shot at making the playoffs

Tough Loss

The Red Hots at one point had an 8-2 lead, however the resilient Fear This, new no fear tonight as they rallied for 7 runs winning it in the bottom of the 7th inning for their team.
This puts the Red Hots at a 2-2 record and an uphill climb to keep their playoff hopes alive. Look for them to rebound against Off Constantly, who they beat in their first game of the Fall season.
