Playoff Math

Three teams qualify for the playoffs. Fear This have already clinched a playoff spot, so there are only two spots up for grabs.

Remaining Schedule:
Meats n Sweets (0-6) @ Mixed Madness (4-2), 6:15pm
Double Trouble (4-2) @ Red Hots (4-2), 7:20pm
Off Constantly (1-5) @ Fear This (5-1), 8:25pm

Based on the Tie-Breaker information below, here’s our scenario:

To clinch playoff berth
- A Red Hots win
- A Red Hots loss, Mixed Madness loss which would result in a Play In Game between those two teams.

Should the Red Hots tie Double Trouble, a Play In Game between those two teams would occur.

Paloma’s Walk-Off Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive

It was an offensive back and forth battle with Mixed Madness until the end..

Down by two runs in the bottom of the last inning, the Red Hots clutched up and successfully loaded up the bases to eventually tie the game at 14-14 thanks to Jazz’s base hit.

Paloma then lined a single to left center to allow the winning run to score, 15-14.

The Red Hots are now 4-2 and still have a shot at making the playoffs

Tough Loss

The Red Hots at one point had an 8-2 lead, however the resilient Fear This, new no fear tonight as they rallied for 7 runs winning it in the bottom of the 7th inning for their team.

This puts the Red Hots at a 2-2 record and an uphill climb to keep their playoff hopes alive. Look for them to rebound against Off Constantly, who they beat in their first game of the Fall season.

Doubleheader Split

The Red Hots managed a split this past Sunday, winning 15-1 against Meats n Sweets and losing the 2nd game against Mixed Madness 9-8. The Concord heat seemed to wipe out the player’s energy for the second game. If the games were scheduled in reverse, we might be looking at a 2-0 day.

Red Hots escape with Season Opener Win

The Red Hots opened their 11th season with what folks would classify as a typical softball game. High scores with a side of “eh” defense. But folks, let’s stick with the positives.. All of the Red Hots players had outstanding at bats scoring runs and collecting RBI’s.

With a 19-9 lead in the bottom of the 6th inning, things got a little too interesting as Off Constantly rallied for 7 runs to get as close as 19-16. Thankfully Janis came through as Miss Clutch on defense with two of the three outs to seal the victory for the Red Hots.

Next week: Doubleheader time...

Last week the Red Hots had clinched a playoff berth, so hopefully we will soon know when the team will play. Stay tuned...

Red Hots Move Closer to Playoff Berth

The Red Hots finished another doubleheader session this past Sunday, defeating His & Hericanes by a score of 7-1. Game number 2 was a close match against Last Call, where the Red Hots fell short in a 6-4 loss.

The Red Hots are currently in 3rd place with two more games to go. They have yet to clinch a playoff berth, but can do so with a win this coming Sunday against St Matt’s This & That at 8pm.

Red Hots Explode with 25 runs

Led by Minh Du’s grand slam, the Red Hots scored 15 runs in the first inning, followed by another 7 runs in the second inning, then 3 runs in the 3rd to take a little revenge on Who’s Watching the Kids who had beaten the Red Hots earlier this season.

The game only went to 3 innings! Crazy.....

Red Hots are now 5-3 in the season.

Two Losses Later

Perhaps I should update the web site more often. The two weeks I was unable to update it, the team has lost in that many weeks! Let’s see if the team can turn things around against Who’s Watching the Kids

Easy Breezy, 19-3

This week the Red Hots played against an apparent “noob” team. The Red Hots ran up the score pretty fast and eased up on the pedal to breeze to a 19-3 win.

However we cannot take away from the amazing home run that Teresa Hendren hit! Only the 2nd female ever to hit one in the history of the Red Hots 10 seasons!

Red Hots are now 4-1... next week....Last Call.

Red Hots Roll

Behind Tara’s triple and 5 RBI night, the Red Hots managed to bat around three out of the four times against His & Hericanes, beating them 18-5. The Red Hots also had their “A” game defensively shutting their opponent out for the last 3 innings of the game. This ups the Red Hots record to 2-1 for the season.

Too Much Funk

It was one of those weird games where both offense and defense was a bit off. Grounders... errr. dribblers were missed. Some overthrows and tons of fly outs is what did the Red Hots in this week. The silver lining, however, is the game was still close despite all of that. 10-8 was the score against Who’s Watching the Kids.

Let’s hope the team can rebound next Sunday!

Sunday, April 19, 2009

Today the Lady Red Hots came up with the big hits to cruise to a 21-6 win over the Cherry Bombers. Janis, Teresa, Kelly and Michelle went 3 for 4 compiling 10 RBI’s for the Red Hots. On the guy’s side, Minh finished an impressive 6 for 6, while Ivan managed to leg out a triple.

Great way to start off the season! And now... onto game # 2

Schedule Released

WCASI have released the schedule for the 2009 Summer season. The season will once again consist of 14 games. Two of those games will be part of a doubleheader on July 12th. There’s one thing missing from this scheduled... Where’s Mixed Madness? Where are our old rivals at? After doing some digging, turns out that Mixed Madness has chosen to play at the Concord league for the summer season. Oh well, good times with them will be postponed possibly til the Fall season when we return to play in Concord.
